Month: November 2014

Giving Thanks to NaBloPoMo…

Good evening, everyone.  My name is Robert Alvarez, and I AM many things: a Witch, a Cuban, a Gay Man, a Psychic, a Wisdome Writer, a lover of cheesecake, cats, coffee, and hairy men (and no, not all at the same time; because, well, that is a little too out there even for me!), a bibliophile, and a New Jerseyite.

I enjoyed being a part of National Blog Posting Month (or, NaBloPoMo, for short).  Part of me feels I may have hit a wall, which is why I stopped posting every day on both of my WordPress Blogs as of Friday, November 21, 2014, when I published “NaBloPoMo, Day 21: Remember the Green…”

https://thisgaymanslife.wordpress.com/2014/11/21/nablopomo-day-21-remember-the-green/

In addition, I AM also most thankful that my physical, emotional and Spiritual Health and Well-Being were such that I could commit to posting one post each from both of my WordPress Blogs.  At least, for the first twenty-one days of November.

Going forward, I shall continue to spend time on this blog, continue to write posts that affect the LGBTQIA Communities, as well as share more of myself, my essence, as a Gay Man.

In addition, after having a lovely coffee klatch with Kelvin (SEE https://thisgaymanslife.wordpress.com/2014/06/17/some-illumined-insight-from-kelvin/ ), a few days ago, I AM Re-Minded of the importance of keeping a personal journal.  It has been a long time since I have done so.

One of the qualities that I love about myself is that I AM Self-Aware.  My Self-Awareness has made certain choices easier, as well as certain decisions necessary, and has helped me move forward in many areas of my life.

Given the time, (approximately 10:57PM, EST), I AM keeping this short and sweet, but before I close, I wish to acknowledge my newest blog followers.  They are: “shaun890,” “sugagalink,” “envisionfuture,” “Felicity,” “essentialoilmama,” and last but certainly not least, “ivytobin,” which is yet another blog follower who is a published author.

I can honestly say that I AM honored to have all the blog followers I have on both of my WordPress Blogs, but I AM especially honored when a published author follows my blogs.  I find it to be a huge compliment.

To all of you who are my new blog followers, thank you for choosing to follow “This Gay Man’s Life…”  hank you for honoring who you are and what you do, and for sharing your Light, your talents, and your PRIDE!

And to all of you who already follow “This Gay Man’s Life…” thank you, as well, for honoring who you ar and what you do, too.

Lesbians, my fellow Gay Men, Transgendered folks, Bisexuals, and our straight allies, let us remember to be kinder, more accepting, and more Loving to ourselves and to others.  Good night.givingthanks

NaBloPomo, Day 21: Remember the Green…

Here is another post, as part of a series on both the secular and Sacred Symbolism of the colors of the Rainbow flag.

According to the article on the Pride Flag in Wikipedia, the green stripe represents “nature.”  How often do we allow ourselves to spend time in Nature?

Given that I have so many Planets in Earth Signs, I love spending time in parks (no wise cracks, thank you), places with a lot of rocks, flowers, grass and trees.  However, I AM also fond of going to Oceans, Rivers and Waterfalls, places where water flows.

Of course, as someone who has been working with the Angelic Realms since January, 2004, I also love the color green because of its connection to Archangel Raphael, the Divine Healer of the Archangels.  Not to mention the Fairy Folk, or as I refer to Them, the Sacred Fey.

And, I would be remiss if I did not mention the color green in connection to the Heart Chakra.  That Energy Center of Love, Divine Love, Platonic Love, has a strong “Heart” connection to Archangel Raphael, the Divine Healer of the Archangels, Whose Aura is a rich, emerald-green.

Where do you enjoy spending time in Nature?  And what is at the core of your own personal “nature?”

Thank you, one and all, for honoring who you are and what you do.emeraldgreen

NaBloPoMo, Day 18: Remember the Yellow…

Here is another post about the secular and Sacred Symbolism about the colors of the LGBT Rainbow Flag.

Yellow represents Sunlight.  Interestingly enough, when I began writing this blog post, it was a cloudy day.  However, right now, it is approximately 10:18AM, and the Sun is shining quite bright today.

I wish to reassure you that, in spite of being a Night Watchman, a night owl, a nocturnal creature, I do NOT hate Sunlight.  Frankly, I do not hate anything or anyone.  There are some things and people I like, things and people I love, and things and people I prefer.

Do I prefer sunlight?  No.  I prefer moonlight.

And, I AM fully aware that my beloved fruits, vegetables and grains do not grow with the help of moonlight.  They grow with the help of sunlight.

Yellow is a great color for improving the Mind, and increasing the effectiveness of mental faculties.  In fact, citrus oils (especially Lemon, which is yellow) is ideal for mental stimulation.

For those of us that are Nature-Minded, a whiff of a citrus oil can be just the right “pick-me-up!”

In the Hindu Cosmology, the Chakra (also known as an Energy Center, or “Goddess Gate”) that corresponds to the color yellow is the Solar Plexus Chakra, located in the center of the torso, in the xiphoid area.  The Solar Plexus Chakra corresponds to Power and Control.

When we feel in control of our lives, when we feel empowered and free, our Solar Plexus Chakras radiate a sunny, bright golden-yellow, like a glorious sunrise.

Conversely, when we feel fearful of people, life, anything or anyone, our Solar Plexus Chakra can be a mustard yellow, or a greenish-yellow, or even a muddy yellow.

Yellow can also be a color of Positive Energy and a bright, sunny outlook on life.  In fact, most yellow Crystals (including a Leo’s favorite, Citrine Quartz) can help one, Metaphysically speaking, be a brighter, more positive person.

Although I have never had my colors done, I have worn pastel yellow in the past, and it does not work for me.  However, golden-yellow and metallic gold certainly work for me, color-wise.  You can even do a visualization of standing in a pool of light of either one of those colors, and see how empowered and aware you become, as a result.

Tell me about your favorite yellow.

Before I close, I wish to acknowledge my newest blog follower: “jamesrevelsthecomposer.”  Thank you for shining so bright, and for honoring who you are and what you do.  May you receive great Insight and great PRIDE from following “This Gay Man’s Life…”

And to those of you already following or reading “This Gay Man’s Life…” may you receive Bright Blessings of all kinds, now and always.yellow

NaBloPoMo, Day 17: The World Continues to Change, Part III…

Although I rarely read news papers, watch television news broadcasts, or visit news-oriented Websites, as part of helping me improve my blogging for “This Gay Man’s Life…” I felt led to subscribe to the Gay Star News.

Just in the Email I received today, there is a variety of news items, everything from scientific findings, celebrity advocates, news on this side of the pond (yes, Gay Star News is based London, the lucky blokes!), and more.

Some of the news items speak to a more accepting world for the LGBTQ Communities, such as:

“OKCupid expands gender and sexuality options, includes ‘sapiosexual.'”

“Investors worth billions demand US firms make gay policies global.”

“Openly gay US Division I college basketball player Derrick Gordon scores 17 points in first game.”

“Mexico City passes pro-trans bill.”

“Colin Farrell pleads for marriage equality in Ireland.”

“Paul Bettany takes on anti-gay troll and wins.”

And more.

You can visit Gay Star News by clicking on the following link:

In closing, let me state that I do not often think of the possibility of Peace, all over the world.

However, upon reading these headlines, I AM beginning to see a world with greater acceptance, maybe even more Love toward all people and animals on this Planet.  One can only hope.changingworld

NaBloPoMo, Day 16: Star-Achieving Artist Giancarlo Alicea…

Every once in a while, I encounter someone, via a social media network who has awesome Energy, and great talents.  Recently, I met a young man who is NOT a starving artist, but a Star-Achieving Artist.  His name is Mr. Giancarlo Alicea.

I have primarily communicated with him, via social media, but he has great Energy, and earlier today gave me the honor and pleasure of seeing some of his outstanding works of art.

He is currently working on a series of paintings depicting one well-known Greek Goddess, Who Is often honored at this time of the year, as well a lesser-known Greek Heroine.

And, of course, Ganymede.  For those of you unfamiliar with the Sacred Stories of the Ancient Greeks, Zeus, King of the Gods and Lord of Lightning, was quite fond of having sex with other women (and Goddesses).  However, he once had a desire for Ganymede, who became his lover.  This was definitely Dominant Daddy and Submissive Son at its highest (literally, at its highest!).

In my life, I have had the honor of meeting various artists, from fine artists, to vocalists, dancers and musicians.  And when an artist shares a work in progress, it is a high honor, indeed.

I was so moved by the paintings, that I told Giancarlo that I wanted to write a blog post about him and his works.  I pretty much said, “I AM doing this!”  And I did not give him the option to refuse (yes, blog followers and readers, I AM quite bossy that way!).

And yes, he accepts commissions!  If you contact him, let him know you found out about his works, via Robert Alvarez, the Psychic Witch, and my Blessèd Blog, “This Gay Man’s Life…”

You can check out Mr. Alicea’s art works by visiting

Also, to contact him about doing commissions, you can Email him at snowmiser87@yahoo.com.

Thank you, one and all, for honoring who you are and what you do.

NaBloPoMo, Day 15: How Things Are Going…

Today is Saturday, November 15, 2014.  Today is Day 15 of National Blog Posting Month (or, NaBloPoMo, for short).

I AM very happy with the progress I have made with this particular WordPress Blog.

Indeed, I felt quite guilty that I had not spent as much time on this Blog, as I had when I first launched it.  Also, I spent much more time on establishing my first WordPress Blog, “This Is Who I AM.”

Nonetheless, NaBloPoMo, has given me my first WordPress Blog, “This Is Who I AM.”  Nonetheless, I AM happy I AM making progress.

New followers, a reblog, and definitely more Inner and Outer Exploration.

Before I close, I wish to acknowledge my newest follower, “sugagalink.”  Thank you for honoring who you are and what you do.  May you receive great insight, great information and great PRIDE from following “This Gay Man’s Life…”

And to those of you already following or reading “This Gay Man’s Life…” Thank you for honoring who you are and what you do, and for honoring who I AM and what I do, too.  May we move forward into a world of greater acceptance (not that tolerance bullshit), greater Prosperity and greater Peace.movingforward

NaBloPoMo, Day 14: Creating Spiritual Connections…

First, let me immediately state that I AM NOT religious.  I AM Spiritual, NOT religious.  And yes, there is a difference.  A BIG difference.

There are many of us that have either been exiled, excommunicated, or shunned because we follow a different Spiritual Path.  Also, there are those of us that have been Divinely Guided or led to follow a different Spiritual Path than that of the norm.

Also, those of us that are members of the LGBTQ Communities have encountered this experience, probably more so that our straight counterparts.

How did you find your Spiritual Path?  Or did it find you?  How long have you been on your particular Spiritual Path?

Regarding my Spiritual Path, it is primarily Magickal.  I do not use the terms Pagan or Wiccan, but prefer using the term Witch.  My Primary Pantheon is Ancient Egyptian, my Secondary Pantheon is Yoruban/Afro-Caribbean, and my Tertiary Pantheon is that of the Lwa of Haiti.

However, I have worked with other Deities from other Pantheons, including but not limited to Greek, Roman, Irish, Welsh, Chinese, Japanese, as well as Angelic Beings.

In addition, I AM devoted to the Practice of Moon Magick, using the Moon’s Courses to deepen my Cosmic Connection with various Deities, as well as to manifest certain desires.

Furthermore, I have the honor and pleasure of having participated, as well as led and co-led Rituals with the NYC Open Gay Men’s Pagan Magick Circle, and have the honor of being an Initiated Companion of Grove Argentum, a Manhattan-based Chapter of both the Druid Clan of Dana, and the International Fellowship of Isis.

I AM more of a Solitary Practitioner, although I do engage in group Ritual, from time to time.  Frankly, it depends on my mood.  In spite of having very little experience with group Ritual, as opposed to Solitary Ritual, I have some very strong feelings and practices regarding group Ritual, but I digress.

I look forward to hearing from you regarding your Spirituality, or your Spiritual Practice, or even if you are either an Agnostic or Atheist.

Before I close, I wish to acknowledge my newest blog follower, “shaun890.”  Thank you for honoring who you are and what you do.  May you receive Insights, Information and PRIDE from following “This Gay Man’s Life…”

And to those of you who already follow or read “This Gay Man’s Life…” thank you for honoring who you are and what you do.  May we continue to move forward towards a life and a world of great acceptance and great Peace.

Thank you.spirituality
